Snow

Something about the snow really makes our family excited. I am not sure if it is Jeremy's obsession, Grace's obsession, or my desire to have off of school, but it definitely brings out the kid in all of us. Grace loves to point out that it is snowing. However, it has brought some confusion too. When she saw snow for the first time in Maryland yesterday, she started to cheer, "Colorado!, Mimi!" She is convinced since we went to Colorado that all snow happens in Colorado. It took a bit of explaining but I think we managed to help her understand that is snows outside of Colorado as well! Here are some picks of the snow at our house here in Maryland.

Parenting

Being a mom is about realizing moment by moment how astutely children watch your every move. Today Grace and I were going on a walk. I asked her if she wanted to take baby on a walk. Emphatically, she shook her head up and down like a bobble head figurine and said "Yeyaaa." she has become pretty famous around town for the way she responds yes to a question. It is one of the most precious things she does. So, she went to put baby in her stroller and then ran towards me with her head tilted down and her eyes looking straight up(this is another classic Grace look, it makes her eyes look particularly huge and puppyish). She subtly shook her head and said, "schchshchoooos, Baby schchshchoooos." After realizing what this meant the importance of her request hit me. Of course! She wanted baby to where shoes outside. It is amazing to see how Grace is learning from us to nurture and care for here baby as we do her... every detail. And then the vital importance of this job hit me. It is this earthly model of parental love that will enable her to grasp a better understanding of how heavenly parent looks after her every detail.

It's about time!

In an effort to keep up with all our wonderful friends from New York City, I think it is about time we did this whole blog business. We are missing the city so much these days. I would write more right now but Grace is pounding on her booster seat, covered in yogurt and asking to take a bath. I think it is a good sign that she at least she knows when she is completely covered in applesauce and yogurt.
